Hey folks. We know things have been a little slow lately, but leadership wanted to get some feedback from everyone to help plan things going forward. Please feel free to either leave some feedback here, or send a PM or IM so we can chat about it.

  • Is there something you feel is missing, or we could be doing more of for RP?
  • Are there any plots of things that you would like to run, or help run, or need help running?
  • Do you have any general concerns that you need addressed?

I and a few others have expressed interest in possibly running a fun group event in the spirit of Halloween/All Saint's Wake when the time comes about. Having some kind of whodunit/locked room 'murder' amongst the Remnant characters at the villa seems very fitting given its mysterious properties.

I also would be interested in potentially reaching out to other RP FCs for some crossover scenarios/events. It's a good way to RP with new people and meet more of our fellow Balmung residents without resorting to bumming around Ul'dah.

For both of these I'm totally open to getting together with other interested parties to kick around ideas and brainstorm!

It was the ghost! Maybe we could find out more about the ghost of the home too while we're at it! WHOM WE IT KILL NEXT?! /panic

Okay now that I got that out of my system. :)

  • I mostly see people using OOC chat to form RP grouping… Maybe move towards a more immersive style in which we use the IC linkpearl to start these gatherings? I know not all meetings can be formed this way, but something as silly as "I'm going to the beach, anybody want to come?" would work towards this.
  • I currently have two plots, but they aren't truly active. I won't go into details on them as one is mainly a personal plot with no 'bad guys' per say and the other involves my alt Yuki. I haven't really started Yuki's thing yet as I'm researching still but some of the effects of her presence in Eorzea has been felt. Like most RP'ers, I'm always looking for a plot for my character. I normally side line them to let other's shine, but interference is always welcomed. Well the one could be a fun investigative thing if people wanted to learn more about some of the things Seras has in her possession or claim one for themselves…
  • Lack of information IC! A prime example of this was Seph in 'jail.' Due to Seras' lack of knowledge of him being there… It forced her out of the plot until she was dragged there…
  • I'd personally love to see RP in Ishgardian areas! All the Heavensward zones need some RP loving I think. I know nault everybody has access as of yet, but it's still a nice thought.

That's all I can think of now… But i will say…

~I enjoy the open world RP without the fear of backlash from the leadership. It does make it more friendly.
~Everybody here is accepting of new people here OOC and IC. Even if the IC has a funny way of showing the acceptance.

And here I thought you wanted me to scare the poopy out of you with a creepy pasta thing about the house being haunted.

But I think the easiest way to get people really into the free company and rping together is to give the company an over arching plot everyone can be a part of. Not something centered around an individual but the group as a whole. It'd take a lot of work and planning, but it's the only reliable way to get everyon's characters involved with the others without forcing relationships that don't fit their characters.

So I'll throw my two cents in. I have a few thoughts and suggestions- and this isn't just for other officer ship, this is for members too.

  • I think it would be good to start thinking about IC plots that move the guild into a more solid ground as far as story goes. We've been calling them a "refugee camp" for so long now, but ever since they left the actual camp site outside of Uldah and moved into the house, they haven't really technically been refugees. So we should start thinking about "well what are they?" Aside from the boat event, we really haven't had any major developing Story arcs, even though the investigation Orin is leading is now starting up chapter 2 pretty quick here.
  • So things to consider might entail : Where is the group going as a whole? Is it just a bunch of individuals with nothing in common living in the same house? Is there a common goal everyone wants or is working toward? Based on what I've seen from an OOC perspective, it almost feels like the FC ICly is a bunch of former criminal/assassins/whatever that are basically trying to shape up their lives or start over. I know Orin is sort of leading a roll as a vigilante fucking shit up for criminal political rings and the like. I dont mind the idea of the group becoming a bunch of vigilantes, so it's something to think about as a potential idea.
  • There are some personal plots that would be interesting, but one in particular I think everyone has been waiting on is "The Mystery house". We know Ryushin got a map and a key, but I think it would be a good story arc to go into about how the house came to be. If need be I'm willing to help set up some DMing investigation events for people to basically start snooping into how the house came to be, with Sote's direction of course. Things like this I think are important and can help the guild progress forward in the sense of RP development.
  • Additionally, Q has made mention to me that more in game group activities would be fun. We did pretty much a guild run of running Castrum for members a few nights ago and it was a blast. Everyone had fun. So I would encourage people to do that kind of stuff more often.

Also it's good to keep in mind and be aware that some character personal stories/plots are separate from FC plots. If you want to be involved, just ask the person doing the plot if you can be involved. Asking helps avoid misunderstandings and confusion. Nobody wants anyone to feel left out. :)

So after talking to some of the other members and petering around with thoughts, I think it would be a great idea if we started branching out and making friends with other FCs or even Linkshell groups. Nenawa made mention that Linkshells are pretty flexible, and if we can get into a few as a group, it will open up some avenues for making new connections and friends, perhaps bring some fresh faces into the FC or help us plan events and do dungeon runs with folks. :D

How do folks feel about that idea?
