Welcome to Remnant.

On the surface, Remnant is a small group of individuals who have known each another, and have interacted with one another in various MMORPGs and roleplaying communities. Looking deeper, we're a collection of friends who are striving to create something that goes beyond a Free Company, and the experiences we share in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn / Heavensward.

What that in mind, this is precisely why I've written this letter: We have a goal, a desire to tell stories. But, these stories are a collection of the lives of our characters, intertwining and building. These are stories of individuals who may not be as spectacular as the Warrior of Light. Their collective stories may not be as exciting as the tales of other adventurer, mercenary or military-based Free Companies. However, they are stories all the same, and they are stories worth telling.

Early on, IndustryThirteen and I decided that we wanted to tell a different story, and to facilitate a different kind of roleplay; the kind that is centered more around a community of characters, their daily lives, living as they do from day-today, beyond the spectacular moments of defeating the Big Bad Evil Guy™. We shared this idea with some of our friends, and they decided they wanted to be a part of it.

We want this Free Company to be always evolving, always growing, driven by the characters that comprise it. We will start out as the down-trodden, the weary, and the tired masses, but we will become something more. What that will be, is up to you, and your peers. We have a base outline, a simple set of rules, and expectations of our community. Most importantly, the desire to facilitate this style of roleplay.
